Even though the sound is deserving of its price, it does have a mellow, warm tone to it. The new violin arrived today, it's lovely and has a nice sound too. Thanks so much for upgrading the size for us, I know my daughter will really enjoy playing this instrument when she graduates to it. If you have the time in the future, could you tell me what are the main differences between all the different levels of violins that you sell? They all seems to be made of the same basic materials but I know there is more than just materials in a violin. I am considering buying one for myself in the future, so I can learn also. Thanks! I wanted to write to personally let you know how happy I am with the violin I purchased. I was looking for a decent 'mid-level' violin and expected to pay $1000-$1500. When I came across your website, I decided to take a chance and purchase the instrument... What I received was a very beautiful instrument, with a great sound that I'm sure will get even better over time... for much less money than I had planned to spend. I took the violin into the shop of a luthier here in Boston, someone who has NEVER approved of anything I've purchased (and there have been some expensive violins...). He instantly recognized it as a Gliga, set the soundpost, and played it for the next 20 minutes. When he asked me what I paid for it, he just smiled and shook his head and gave me a big 'thumbs up.' It's good to know that there is quality workmanship that comes from people who care about their customers. When my daughter moves to her next violin (in about six months), you can bet I'll be back.
