The violin has arrived and we are very happy with it. We are in the process of setting up a violin rental business an had seen the Gliga website. It was nice to purchase a "sample" of what they make. We are in the process of repairing and setting up a number of old violins for rental but will also be purchasing some new instruments, mostly in fractional sizes. This is good!! It sounds beautiful. The violin maker new the Gliga as soon as we took it out of the case. He spoke of the very deeply carved scroll and how this bold statement is a signature of the Gliga line. He assured us (as we already knew) that this is a very fine European instrument. I just received the viola. That was fast! I have spent the last hour or so playing the instrument. Just for a frame of reference, I am a flutist, but I currently play viola in a community orchestra ... When I first heard about the student Gems, I was very interested in them because I also teach music in the Fontana Unified School District. I am always on the lookout for better instruments that my students can afford. Like all of the Gligas that I have seen, this viola is made well for the price. I like the sound. It's warm and sweet sounding. I would be very pleased if my students came in with instruments like this. Thanks. Carlton
